Suttons Bay
The next town to the West. About a 15-20 min. coastal drive. Great restaurants and shops there! We especially love the food at Martha's.
Leland
Cute shops and the historical Fishtown district.

I would recommend hitting the wineries on Old Mission Peninsula (northeast of Traverse City) because you could combine it with a beautiful drive to the lighthouse and a dinner at the Jolly Pumpkin (one of our fav!) - Chateau Chantel and Black Star Farms are very popular and we recommend 2 Lads.
